I am a 30 year old male lving in England (irrelevant!) and I have high blood pressure. I do not & never have smoked, I am 5'8" and weight 12 st so particularly overweight. There is no family history of heart disease. I have had ECG's, Heart Ultrasoudn Scan, Full blood test & many 24hr urine Tests for Kidneys etc and all normal. My diet isn't perfect but I am working on it and exercising regularly now. I am taking ramapril & amlodopine and currently my BP is around 150 / 95. My cholesterol is 6.1 but am told ratio of good to bad is fine. The doctors don't seem too concerned but I am totally convinced I will die of a heart attack or stroke before I am 40....I have 3 young children so am terrified......I would like some perspective on this from people that know the topic better than I do, doctors just seem too casual.....I feel ver anxious which is probably making my BP raise even more!
