Since I've been able to find out what it is that I'm suffering from, I printed out a couple of pages from the HS Foundation and presented it to my primary care physician. It's funny, I presented my diagnosis to my primary and she responded that since I have a PPO now, I don't need her for a referral to a dermatologist. I don't even know if a dermatologist is the correct specialist for this disease. I'm wondering if the president or his family were suffering for this, would there be more research? Hmmmmm. At any rate, I'm going to make an appointment with a derm sometime soon and will keep you all posted. Another comment my primary made was that HS isn't a mystery for the practicing docs, she claims that they've all heard of it.
