I am soooo sorry your having such a rough go of it for so long. What treatments have you tried so far? I am here as well as so many wonderful souls who really band together to lift each one of us up. I hope you allow us to comfort in your time of need. Welcome to our group.

thanks, amber! yes HS has beaten up for a long time now. i was mis-diagnosed up until 3 years ago. my dermtologist wanted to rx me accutane but, my family physician would not put me on birth control- i am now taking the tumeric capsules that i got from the GNC store--i have had one out-patient surgery-- and a number of in office incisions to drain-- the locations are actually on my back and one on the nape of my neck--i am very overweight and i feel like that is what makes them flare up! i dont know- i just started Zumba but, for the past 2 days i havent been able to do anything! i am barely making it thru the work day.

Hang in there love you will get better just a bad day thats it keep that it mind better days will follow. Urgh I work in food service now and on my feet all the time helps cause most of mine are on my but. I remember working for a call center last year and sitting on my ass all day had to wear adult diapers because of the drainage talk about a blow to your ego urgh. I feel you.

My doctor wanted to put me on accutane too, but I refused. Good thing I did because they have found that accutane causes serious health issues. I've suffered for 13 years so I feel you pain. I'm glad you have found this group. Hopefully it will help you to know that you are not alone. This is a very active group and I usually find myself checking it more often than facebook ;)

thanks dustin. i am gonna keep fighting! i pray for a cure! i am so glad this group exist! i have felt soooooo alone for soooooo long.

Well i did two rounds of accutane and had remission for a year and half and on the second round I was having issues with my triglycerides and diabetes so we were unable to up the dose to high enough to do any good. But I have tried almost everything and am more than happy to tell you about my medical journal and photos and treatments as far asa did they work and for how long. Currently I am on Humira and it is working really well minus two areas right under the breast and I am having those cut out in May on the 11th. I am here if you want to chat. I am always willing to share. I dont feel there is a cure out there depite what it sounds like all I can do is tell you what is working and has worked for me. I hope things start looking up for you!!!

julie, i love facebook also! lol. i found out later that the accutane ould have been a horrible mistake! anytime you have to sign a release just to the medicine- something is not right!. once again thanks you guys

I feel your sadness. I am aware of the depression that HS can bring into a persons life. I hope things get better for you soon.

Can you go on disability? Would that help instead of having to work with HS?

I usually work for myself out of my home. But a couple months ago i took a temp contract job and had to go into the office. I had a smelly day there. Then I had a day where I couldn't sit because of a cyst on my back of the thigh, and another day where I had to limp to walk because of the skin rubbing. After all that, I thought I can't work. I need to be at home. Where if I have a bad day I can pop, drain, treat, heating pad rest, find a position that I can be in..something, you know?!
