Hernia Support Group
There are several kinds of hernias, but the all happen when pressure pushes an organ (often the intestine) through a weak spot in a muscle face or wall. Treatment for hernias can be no treatment, to medicines to surgery. Modern surgical methods to treat hernias are much improved over older techniques and recovery times are much shorter.

Hi
I was just wondering if people could share their syptoms with me, I have only recently been diagnosed with Hiatus hernia, I have sufferd with stomach problems for 6 years though.
Whatever researh i have done alsways talks about heartburn etc which altough is a problem for me is not the main problem
*I feel neaseous most of the time
*I feel like I have been punched in the stomach or like im carrying a big rock around in my stomach (hard to explain)
*Also have weird taste in my mouth,
*I also find it hard to get mr breath a lot
.
Just wondered what other people symptoms were other than heartburn, and any ideas on how to help them
Would really appriciate some feedback
(im 25 years old)

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I forgot to tell you I had the same symptons you do now. Sick to my stomach most of the time, knawing feeling in my stomach which can suggest ulcers but in my case too much acid. Also shortness of breath as the hernia got larger and pressed on my lungs. And always a bad taste in my mouth from the acid. I guess it is the times we are living in too much stress not enough time to relax. Hope you feel better soon. Also if Sara is still on this board she can really help as she was an absolute God-send to me. Hang in there sweetie.

I was diagnosed 5 months ago, and took Aciphex for a while. It helped somewhat, since at the time I was also having a feeling of food stuck in my throat on and off, which was very troubling.
Now, I only occasionally use OTC antacids. They only help a little.
i don't really have heartburn/gerd/acid reflux, although sometimes i get a burning feeling just below my breastbone after i eat. usually i have knotty pain and bloating below my breastbone, and also chest pain and tightness. i am trying acupressure and also trying to manually pull my stomach down - things i found on the internet. i will let you know if they help.
