I was diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia in 2006. Had and endoscopy and esophagus stretch. I had severe bloating after eating and after the first 6 months to a year watching my diet and taking DGL Licorice tabs for the bloated feeling after eating i was eating normal meals again and leading a normal life. Now in October 2009 around the 6th I started having difficulty swallowing. I would chew my food as usual and swallow but sometimes a small part that wasn't swallowed with the first swallow would start to get stuck before trying to swallow again. Kind of scary when it happens. I have been on a soft and pureed food diet for a week now. I can swallow the soft foods just fine but still with a bit of anxiety and lack of confidence for fear of choking. I've not actually choked. I just clear my throat when it happens and swallow again. I went to my primary care doctor and he somewhat confirmed by drinking ice cold drinks all the time has made my throat and esophagus swollen. I have an appointment the 27th with the Gastroentologist to set up a date for another Endoscopy. Has anyone else experienced this from their Hital Hernia? Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
