Ok at my work is open enrollment for insurance, meaning I can change my insurance company. I had blue care network which seemed good but I had to get refurrals for everything, which was a pain. So I changed to Blue Cross Blue shield....which is way more expensive !! Now if my partner comes back hep.c positive then he has to go on my insurance because he has none, which makes it unaffordable for us to have blue cross blue shield. SOOO Im wondering if anyone knows about the following insurances which are available....
1.blue cross clue shield ppo
2.blue care network hmo
3. healthy alliance plan h58 "hap"
4.healthy alliance plan hy5 "hap"
I wonder what insurance if any you guys have because mike & I both plan to get treatment if we are both hep c positive & I know treatment is about $6000 yearly....or at least thats what I read.
Is anyone insurance-less? & how do you pay for tx?
Also I signed up for AFLAC last year & I wonder if anyone knows about it & if I can use it for hepatitis issues?
THANKS A MILLION,
sam jo

As you know all insurance company's are the true meanings of Legalized Racketterring!!LOL I have Medi-Care. Is your partner gonna do Treatment soon? He can file for disability and Medi-care. My wifey has good INS. But putting me on it would cost so damm much, Plus ya gotta look into that "PRE" Exsiting Illness factor too!!!!! And which Ins Company "would" cover the very expencive Drugs for treatment too.Cause treatments are so very long term. When I first started my treatment in 2001 I had great Ins. But the side effects hit me so hard I had to give up my job and my insurance ran out and I couldnt afford That Cobra crap!!! Be aware of the treatments side effects sister!!! Make sure your partners Doctor is a straight shooter and no bullshit!!! Its so fuckin hard sister!! I know!!!! I hope this kind of helps ya sister!!

DO LOOK INTO WHICH OF THESE INS HAVE THE PRE-EXSITING CLOUS. MANY OF THEM DO, AND THEY WILL NOT COVER YOU FOR UP TO 6 MONTHS AFTER GETTING IT. I WORK AT A DR'S OFICE AND I SEE ALOT OF THIS AND PT'S HAVE TO WAIT TO BE TREATED FOR ANY PRE-EXISITING CONDITIONS. SO BE CAREFUL WHICH ONE YOU CHOOSE OR MAYBE JUST STAY WITH THE ONE YOU HAVE MIGHT BE THE BEST GOOD LUCK PEACE NONILV

I'am not sure if this applys only to CT. Group insurance carriers are not allowed to exclude pre existing conditions, belive me they definatly would have done it to me if they could have

as far as I know, as long as you enroll your partner during enrollment, pre-existing cannot be applied, it's illegal. My hubby changed jobs and we enrolled and not a thing was asked about pre-existing. HOWEVER, you MUST enroll your partner when you enroll, if you wait a few months, and he did not have insurance during that time, then they will probably make you wait until the next open enrollment. How good the coverage is really depends on how large the group is and what the specifics of that plan are, everyone is different. When I still worked and had my own insurance, my group was small and my copay for meds was almost $500/month, now I'm on hubby's, a big group, and my meds are $22/month - WOW, its amazing to me. Good luck to you and partner, we are here and I hope this helped in some way. xo

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
