As you age, your metabolism slows down.
Quit smoking and the same thing happens.
Getting less exercise can cause weight gain.
Menopause causes weight gain.
Some medications cause weight gain.
The list of reasons for weight gain is endless, so try not to blame everything on Hep C.
Doing tx may be held off, but you need to have your biopsy results, your stage and grade before making that decision.
Also, see where you stand with the lupus and cancer, and discuss your options with all of your drs.
I was looking forward to dropping a few pounds.
Oh well, does anyone know how to lose weight? (Other than reducing calories and exercise)
I am still struggling to get rid of the extra lbs. I gained at least 30lbs on tx and then another 20 when I quit smoking after tx!
All I can say is to keep doing some form of exercise while on tx because that's what I stopped while on tx. I totally regret that too.
God, now I feel like a narcissist.
I'm having symptoms from not having Tx.
(dang how bad will I be from sides on TX? lol)
Many people actually do gain while on tx, but more common are the folks who lose. Why?
It could be that if you are nauseous and have no appetite, you may not be able to force yourself to nibble on foods. I had no nausea; only no taste at all. My diet was mostly porridge in the morn and then no fat fruit smoothies as I could taste the fat textures and it gagged me.
It could be that tx gives a whack to your thyroid which is also pretty common. While your thyroid may not be extremely affected, I do feel it could contribute to weight issues.
Even my dr has been concerned and is checking on my thyroid regularly because of my weight gain.
If I knew how to lose this sudden gain, believe me, I would do it.
Menopause, no smoking, only healthy foods and proper portions, daily extreme exercising with a trainer and spinning 3times a week, and still I can't budge the weight.
My total gain was around 50lbs; I am hoping that I am just converting it into muscle.
Any and ALL suggestions welcome
