I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Maybe a letter to each US Senator and US Congressman may be a good place to start. It would take 535 stamps though. They respond to letters as opposed to emails.
Your State Senator and State Representative might not be a bad idea either. Usually you can visit their office and make an appointment to speak with them personally. The same with your US Congressman. They generally have several offices in each Congressional district. My Congressperson has a office in my town and shows up several times a month. US Senators usually have a person in each county or district of their state you can talk with.
Governors are harder to speak with. You may get a chance to say hello, but a hand written letter is better because they don't have more than a few seconds to speak to you when you do get an opportunity.
But you are right, we do need to get HCV in the news and keep it there. Maybe letters to news networks may not be bad either. They can be more powerful because of the millions of people they reach right in their living room.
If we could get enough people to go to Washington, I would certainly want to be there.
I admire you for wanting to stand up and do something. Kudos to you!
I am down with it. Count me in..
As far as Mr. Bush goes, My Mother said if you can't say something nice about someone, then don't say anything. : )
I appreciate what you are doing in your part of the country. Keep up the good work.

I have a friend from my junior high school days, one of the few to respond to my letter requesting they write their congresspeople, who is a radical lawyer and attended UofDC. She would probably help.
And I lived in DC for years, did many anti-war demos there (probably where I caught the dragon) and lived on Cap Hill, even.
I have another local friend who is getting his PhD so he can address the public health issues of the uninsured.
And one of my blog commentators is an activist big shot in California who is working on the insurance problem.
Perhaps if we posted all over the place we could gather more people. DSers are not the only Heppers out there.
How about a petition at the Petition site?
How about contacting MICHAEL MOORE?
I emailed him once and would do it again.
That is a walk of at least a mile and a half.
Any hepper march would have to stop mid-way so we could all rest our feet and take a nap for awhile. LOL!
That is hilarious! I never heard him referred to as a shrub.
I always pictured him more like a carrot. He reminds me more of a vegetable, don't ask me why.
I don't know if I should tell this, but I am going to anyway. So please, in advance, forgive me if you think this is naughty.
I was leading a demonstration/rally in my town when W was here to visit before the 2004 election. We followed all the rules, had them explained in detail in advance. (I had six cops around me and was videotaped throughout the entire demonstration. The cops were not there because I was the instigator, they were there to protect me from the "shrub people")
When he finally arrived, there were about 20 college girls ran up near his bus and they were screaming at him, "We don't even like our bush". I lost it and called it quits. That was too much for me. The whole thing started getting ugly anyway, and the fence came down and all hell broke loose. I bet he never wants to see any hillbilly's for a long time. We's a wild bunch!
tattman, love the fake bomb joke. lol.lol....
And even those famous Heppers that haven't done much so far.
Get them on the bandwagon. Do some marches, some concerts,etc..
