Last night all of a sudden I started uncontrollable body jerking-sorta like a seizure-scared the hell out of hubby and caught me by surprise-didn't last long at all tho thank god...I had heard of something like this so didn't worry...however a friend today told me that rigors are serious and she had to be hospitalized.
What I had may not have been 'rigors' but something different and simple to ignore - just wanted info on what exactly is 'rigors' and what is normal body jerking.
I already know 1st hand what chills are-had Sun night after Shot#2-outside body hot but inside freezing to bone and body shaking and teeth chattering uncontrollably--so that one didn't scare me just wasnt' a damn bit fun....but this one got me wondering?????
Any info appreciate-I could call my personal Be-In-Charge nurse but don't think it's that big a deal just wondered if anyone else had this or could shed light on it for me...thanks friends!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I went home and prepared for whatever horrible things would most likely all happen to me. Four hours went by and I did not feel a thing, so I went to bed.
Shortly afterwards, I started to shake uncontrollably. I though for sure I was going to shake right out of my skin and then freeze to death. For the next few hours I said if this happens with every shot, I am not doing any more of this shit.
Well, after a few more hours, they slowed down and I finally passed out.
The next day I felt drained but able to get up and do stuff.
That was my first and one and only bad shot. I think it was my body's way of saying OMFG what is this shit???
I don't know if that was rigors but it was truly horrible. I felt freezing right to the core. There was nothing I could do to feel warming up, and nothing at all stopped the shaking.
I would tell your dr about it, just to mention it. Maybe you can get some tips what to do next time, if there is another occurrence.
Sorry to scare ya dear Serenity-obviously it wasn't a seizure and your right I do keep most of minimal sides to myself but ones that are unusual and sorta scary I need my DS buds and they have come thru...yea to all...aren't we all blessed!!!
I too experienced the wicked chills and shaking, but thank goodness only on the 1st shot. I was freaking out when it was time to do shot 2, but it didnt happen again, thank God. I know for me, I take my shot and in like maybe 2 hrs or so, I go to sleep and hopefully sleep thru the night. By morning I am usually ok. Hope your sides get better for you dear:)
I do remember feeling like my insiders were on fire but I was freezing to death on the outside. Rootbeer floats would put the fire out.
That was a strange experience. The longer I get away from it and remember stuff that I experienced..it's just weird.
Mike said I would go up to people and ask them,"Could you give me a hug?"
Now, if that happens again, make the call. Personally...I'd make the call anyways...just for the record.
Love ya!

Definately sounds like Rigors to me. I had them the worst after my first shot like JustBlue did. After that I would get them only like every third or fourth shot but not nearly as bad as I had gotten them the first time.
Keep on keep'in on.

Thanks for the post! I love hearing about everyone's experience because it helps me navigate through my own sides. Knowledge really is power.
Only you know if it was one or the other, but the way you describe it, it seems to be more a case of the rigors.
What combo medication are you on? How many riba per day?
I remember when I was on tx, and I once posted that my hands were always soo cold, well actually it felt more like the blood in my hands was freezing, and my hands were on fire, wicked feeling.
A lady who had did treatment during the old combo days, had, had this feeling thru out her journey, just like I did, and she couldn't believe that this horrible side effect was still part of the newer versions of interferon treatment.
I'm not talking about the chills, but this uneasy feeling in the palms of our hands.
Hopefully you won't have to deal with this all thru tx, like I had.
To this day, when I am cold, I get this uneasy feeling in my palms, absolutely hate it.
Hope this side subsides for you, by the way, how are things going with your treatment?
The best of luck on killing the beast.
