This method is used for monitoring prople on interferon therapy to see if they are clearing the virus.
It's the most sensitive way to detect as few 100 virus particles per milliliter of blood.
This test is very expensive, which is why is only taken after so many weeks on treatment.
Usually at week 12.
God luck to you both on your results.
Oh Barbara,
You have come a long way since I've met you, and I'm really happy to see you post.
Thanks and keep keeping on, as they say...

REally though try not to worry too much the shots are protecting your healthy cells and the ribavarin is tactically nuking out baddies this is good. ^.^
Shots may suck but if you look at it like a micro dose of Angels or Defenders of somesort it helps.
Drinking + ribavarin is no good! its not good to begin with.If you got a serious craving though you might try http://www.gtskombucha.com/
It tastes kinda like beer (well some varieties) is non alcholic and the l-theanine + b vitamins give most people a fair buzz. L-theanine is a stress reducing amino acid.
I have been sober 2 years and it's hard to stop without a support group I go to AA & N.A. due to past addictions. Please call the local AA chapter and someone will take you to a meeting. It has worked for millions of people. Even this old drugging drunk! So I m sure it will work for you if you want it.
