Out of all the people on this site who've had TX. Has anyone regretted doing it? I've read so much about peoples quality of life after tx not improving i wonder to myself is it worth it, if you come out with all these other issues that impact your life and possibly make you so depressed that you cannot work and end up on disability. What i'm saying is with HCV i'm functioning, living, working etc.. I know it will effect my life as time goes on but i've mentally prepared myself for this, not all these other issues that could come on after tx.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I am not able to have treatment at this point...but, I hope that you get an answer to your question...I guess, ultimately you and your doctor will have to make and informed decision...My prayers to you that you work this out and that someone here can answer your questions. Prayers and Hugs to you, your friend, Carlee
Sure you are seeming to be OK right now, but are you? Are you really "OK"?
How's your liver doing these days? It's pretty tough for it to try to repair itself with the virus damaging it.
Sure some people may have some more aches and pains after tx, but honestly, I think I will take a few more aches and pains if it means that I have cleared the virus from my liver and my liver could then begin the job of repairing, regenerating itself.
Yes, tx definitely can be a crap shoot, but it depends on which side you want to gamble.
Me, I'll take tx so that I can help my liver, even if it means I end up with some achy joints or some other non-live threatening issue.
Remember, if you do not do t x, you could well end up like you say above - too ill to work and on disability.
I did tx to hopefully clear the virus and help my liver, but I relapsed after I finished tx.
I will do tx again once my dr decides there is something to take that will clear the virus. We are waiting for a new tx, likely a protease inhibitor.
Why? Because I want to help my liver and live a bit longer.
