I just received a call from Vickey.
Two weeks ago Bob and Vickey went to a local hospital for his fever. He had pneumonia. They were trying to do a bronchial scope. I'm not sure what happened but he ended up on a ventilator, his kidneys began failing, and they had to shock his heart.
I think it was at this point they moved him to a major hospital where he spent the last two weeks in ICU.
He was discharged yesterday but Vickey took him back to the smaller home town hospital this morning. He is there now. She said he was confused/disoriented last night and the drs are not sure if he had a stroke or had one in the past. Tomorrow morning there will be a CAT scan and an MRI.
You remember that Bob did not have a biopsy. The drs think there may be cirosis (sp?)...
Nevertheless, even with six weeks left on tx, Vickey does not believe he will be able to continue.
On the positive side, he listened as Vickey was playing the telephone messages last night. Even though he was disoriented, when he heard my message, she said he smiled and pointed to the computer and said, "My friend".
Vickey very much appreciates your prayers and concerns and promises to call and update us. She is so exhausted and is sleeping at home tonight. Pray for Bob, Vickey says he is pretty "out of it" right now. He was concerned about not updating us before all this happened. She says he isn't aware of much right now. Pray for Vickey, their kids, and the doctors. It seems the HCV is playing havoc with something else...
Take care friends,
I'll let you know the moment I know more.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Thank You for the update !!! I feel like an ass after ranting in my message to you expressing my frustrations...I do apologize to you Suzy even tho it was not directed to or at you !!! Please forgive me my friend!!!! I will continue to pray for Bob and Vickey and the kid's...Love ...Janet
Thanks Tsuzy for all your help and caring. Poor Pastorbob! He trusted his dr. that he didn't need a biopsy and now look at the complications! I am another one who is expected to start tx next month without a biopsy and this worries me even more now. Did you tell Vickey how to sign in so she can check his messages? I will be praying for our friend and his family. We miss you Pastorbob!! Get well soon. And good luck to you Tsuzy and your husband as you start tx tomorrow. I will be praying for you too.
This condition has little to do with whether Bob had a biopsy or not. TX is difficult, for sure, but life and other health issues happen as well. It sounds like the real culprit is the pneumonia and complications from that treatment. The rest is speculation, not mine. We'll know more as Vickey knows. I know she does not have access to the internet in his room, and am not sure if she knows his password. Right now, her whole focus is on her husband as it should be.
We are very fortunate to know what has happened. I am also worried about Jazzosick. She was told she had to do extra weeks and that is the last I've heard from her.
In the meantime, we have a lot of knee work to do on behalf of both Bob and Tatt, and many others. We are here to stand in the gap, praying for them without forgetting our other ministry to comfort and educate the newbies.
It is a sad day for two precious members. This is core of Daily Strength, stand, and when all else fails, stand firm. Both know we are interceding for them, we can all take comfort in that.
Love ya,
Suzy
