Hepatitis C Support Group
Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
I went down that path during treatment round 1. Make sure you get your doc to check it out just in case it's Thrush. Thrush is pretty common on tx.
My doc gave me a swish and swallow solution called Carafate and it cleared me right up. For round 2 of tx which I expect is going to start on Sunday, I got this stuff called Biotene Oral Gel. Someone on another board recommended it. The box said it's especially for folks that are doing medications and radiation therapy. I know the other Biotene products are great (mouthwash and toothpaste).
Anyway, give it a shot if your doc says it's o.k.

P.S. I had what I called "fire tongue". Anything other than bland food just literally hurt like hell.
I am also having issues with my mouth. I use the Biotene toothpaste, spray, and mouthwash. Drink tons of water and check with your doc cuz I know I am going to ask for a prescription tomorrow when I go for my appointment. It gets too expensive buying the toothpaste and mouthwash as opposed to a $5.00 copay at the pharmacy. Best wishes on your journey thru tx!!
