My dr. just prescribed it for me less than 2 weeks ago for a combination of depression and anxiety. Can't tell yet as it's too soon. Typically I hear it takes about 4 weeks to hit the blood system to have an effect. I have read and been told that it is a good choice. I figure at this point, what the hell with one more pill if it can make my day to day more tolerable. I will discontinue it as soon as tx is over since I normally don't have issues with depression. Hope it works for all of us.

My girlfriend was taking lexapro for anxiety and to me she was more pleasant. She said it helped a lot, but only if taken regularly. Good Luck.

Yeah the xanax really don't help me much at all, I rarely take it. The wierd thing about meds, is that it works differently for everyone cause of our chemical make-ups, our chemistry is different so our reactions to chemicals will be different.

I took valium until I no longer felt good with it. It actually made me mean when it wore off, then lexapro, no help at all, then xanax, not quite enough.....Now I am on Lorazepam, and that is the best for me. We are all unique individuals, and what works for one doesn't work for others. I hope it helps you. If not, as you can see from my post, there are numerous options to try. Cathie

My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
