Anyways, I always suggest to try Benadryl because so many people in the past have said it worked best, but since you claim that remedy in your list of no-go's, I had a thought about ice.
What does ice do to an itch?
I know that when I had my MCL knee issue, I was always putting my ice pack on the knee and it just about numbed it to no feeling.
Maybe if you have a few certain areas that are a problem, try keeping an ice pack in the freezer. You can get some great flexible ones that are not hard bricks. they wrap around sore joints or around any curves.
Just a thought.
Had to go to dermatologist for itch and burn tx.
