The W Post had an article about Evel Knievel's death and they didn't mention he had Hep C or a liver transplant. Kinda got me going, so I sent this letter to them:
It is truly a sad stake of affairs when a large publications fails to mention the fact the Evel Knievel also suffered from Hepatitis C, which resulted in liver disease and the liver transplant he had in 1999. In case you brilliant people over at the Post don't know, Hepatitis C is an epidemic. 1 in 50 Americans have Hep C; 2 out of 3 are unaware they have it, and all the while it is wreaking havoc on their body, and threatens their life. This disease is also known as "The Silent Killer". 70% of Vietnam Veterans have Hep C. 1 in 3 medical personnel have or will contract Hep C. It was just reported out of Chicago that 4 people contracted Hep C by receiving an organ from an infected donor just this year. So much for screening. The PRESS, the medical community, and our government IS NOT doing what needs to be done to eradicate this disease, let alone finding a tolerable treatment or vaccine. Four times more people are infected with Hep C than HIV, yet as a perfect example in your article about Mr. Knievel's death, you don't bother to mention he suffered greatly from HepC. Unlike HIV, Hep C IS NOT sexually transmitted, many people simply don't know how they got this killer disease. Hep C is the leading indication for liver transplant in the world, it also causes cirrhosis and liver cancer. Hep C kills 10,000 to 12, 000 people every year. It kills more people every year than many other diseases that receive a lot more attention, funding and research. Get with it people, report all the news accurately, or shut your doors.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
