Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.

They are doing it to rule out one of the B cell Non-Hodgkins lymphomas that are more common in people with Hep C..and I remember you said you have some abnormalities in your blood count. I imagine thats why they are doing the bone marrow biopsy. Honestly Ive done several of these as a resident and seen many more..you will feel pressure but no pain...when they "aspirate" the marrow you MAY get some electric shock like pains down your legs but ONLY for a quick second. Then your iliac crest will be sore for 2-3 days
