I think it is SO rude and annoying when someone tells me I'm wrong JUST because I'm a teenager and I "probably have no idea what I'm talking about".
Key word in that sentence: PROBABLY.
I hate when adults who really DON'T know what they're talking about assume I am wrong and make me feel like my response doesn't matter just because I'm 17 years old. What if I am right? What if I know something that you don't? Would you admit it?
Well I'm not just another "ignorant, self-absorbed, angsty, partying teen". I act older than I am. I have more common sense than the majority of the kids at my high school. I have some issues with anxiety and depression and my self-image may be distorted, but that doesn't make me a typical "stupid" teenager who "thinks I'm wiser than I actually am". One of my goals (not a DS goal) is to NOT be a typical teenager; but a self-educated, mature young girl.
There are a lot of teenagers who are like me. There are a lot of teens who do a lot of good. And there are a lot of teens that are probably 10x smarter than some of the adults in this world (well, in America at least).
I'm not trying to say "HEY I'M SMART EVERYONE!" I'm just venting because it gets on my nerves when people belittle me and doubt me JUST because of my age.
I'm not necessarily talking about KNOWLEDGE. I'm talking about compassion, common SENSE and (MAYBE) a little wisdom.
I hate stereotypes and I try to avoid judging someone based on a stupid generalization.
K I'm done.

In my head...So in my last post, I talked about how me and my boyfriend of little over 4 months and me had our first squabble on Sunday. I appreciate your guys' feedback and see where I escalated and engaged in some very negative behaviors. Thank you!Since then we have been texting the same, but it is a little different. A lot of one word replies and being active on social media without replying...

I struggle with my confidence in bed. I am someone who is very much into almsot any and everything (with some exceptions) but for some reason, when it someone's to hooking up with someone new I always freeze. I get so nervous, no matter how bad I want it.how can I build my self confidence so I can get over this?
I don't think anyone means to make you feel like your feelings don't matter; its hard for adults to remember that we felt the same way you do when we were teenagers.
Ageism was alive and kicking in them days.....it's nothing new :-)
It's just a stage that some adults go through especially the "older" ones that are not used to being around typical teenagers (for comparison's sake). Continue on with your quest for knowledge and learn to "understand" what these old farts are going through. :)
I like that...a lot :-)
