Honey, don't hurt yourself over some guy. Take it from someone who has had their heart broken many many times in the past. Time DOES heal all wounds. Move on, make yourself a priority in your life. You must love yourself, before you can love someone else. Good luck!

I agree with the other reply...you can't continue to beat yourself up over something that you have no control over..Do something for yourself that will make you feel good/sexy such as get your nails done, or your hair done or something like that..Or maybe take a hot bath with soothing music and candles or something! Good luck!!!

You are not a failure. Your worth is not based upon what some man does or doesn't do. Please, seek some help. I understand the need to cut-and I don't know that you can stop on your own. Your too pretty and have to much life to live to let this stop you.

For the record, there is no guy worth cutting yourself over. In a year, he will be a nobody- but the scars will be there. Don't hurt yourself over some ass whose too stupid to see what a great person you are.

Who knows why he got cold feet? If it's any consolation, I'm in an unrequited love situation too--I truly adore her and she doesn't find me physically attractive, so we're semi-platonic at best, which sucks, but I love her anyway and look at her as good practice until someone more interested and interesting comes along.

I'm 43, you're 17; I wish I could say rejection/abandonment gets easier with age, but it still hurts. However, you will get tougher with age, and will look back on this with a bit more of a sense of humor. Everything feels like the end of the world at 17, and it's not.

Maybe you can take this as a blessing in disguise. This man doesn't sound like someone you want to permanently hook up with. There are decent men out there who won't do this to you. Be patient with yourself. Good luck to you.

Thanks guys so much. You make me feel a lot better about it. Unfortunately, last night I relapsed again and had to go to the ER to get stitches, but I'm doing better today.
