I got the official results back from my uptake scan. It came in at 15.2% normal is 3-8%. My right lobe is normal size and normal uptake...my left lobe is slightly enlarged and that's where the extra iodine went. My GP and Endo are convinced that the cause is graves. They think that initially it was bad and that 14 months later and being on PTU... I am close to remission. Im supposed to continue on 37mg PTU and to reduce further based on how ..I FEEL...finally my doc trusts my judgment!!!! Im supposed to stay on PTU for another 16 months before trying for remission. Its better to be on small amounts over a long period of time rather than stop all together. My GP told me today that there is no way in hell she would let my endo give me a permanent treatment. She wished she had waited longer before getting RAI done. My GP could not comment on the special blood tests so when I see my Endo on Feb 3rd I will get him to explain how I can have graves without the antibodies. Im happy with this !!!
