Are you on a beta blocker yet? (inderal, or propranolol are two names for the same drug that is what is usually used. there are others)
The beta blocker will control the heart symptoms and helps with anxiety for some folks. It helps immediately and will work while getting started on the antithyroid drugs or seeking other treatment. It was a godsend for me. I am still on it while I am seeing what dose methimazole I need.

I am on Inderal 5mg for heart palps..it really scares me when my heart skips beats. Ask your doc about treatment and you will be ok :)
