Hello everyone, I'm discouraged. Tonight at work a girl - who also says she has Grave's, said that she can tell I have it because my eyes look exopthalmic. I was so discouraged - I thought they have been looking fine but they have started to bother me. I can notice in pictures that it looks like I'm staring, but when I consciously close my eyes slightly the pictures look normal. I thought that if I took the meds my eyes will look normal. I am scared now. Do people's eyes ever go back to being normal once they are on methimazole? Or once the damage is done, is it done? I am so scared. I know that severe cases require surgery, I want to know what happens for the not so severe cases. Does it get better? What can I do to prevent it from getting worse?

This is my first cold with Graves (not flu - had the pleasure of that...
Hello, I’m new to the group. I went to the ER a month ago for heart palpitations and dizziness and the doctor ran some blood test and diagnosed me with hyperthyroidism. She told me I need to see an endocrinologist in 3-5 days. Has anyone been misdiagnosed before? I don’t really trust ER docs. I feel horrible though and I see an endocrinologist in 2 weeks.
