i was diagnosed with graves in august....my endo said it has not affected my thyroid function. i just have a high amount of the antibodies present, which is/will attack my thyroid, eventaully....not sure when.
my bloodwork....
T4 1.04 (within normal range)
TSH .25
thyroid stimulating immunoglob 484 (high)/ range is 0-129
so anyway, i take inderal to help with the symptoms of fast heart rate and anxiety, etc....
lately i feel as if either my symptoms of graves are getting worse or maybe a low blood pressure thing. i feel a bit weak and lightheaded, nausea, nervous, foggy feeling in my head moreso than lightheaded....i just read that inderal can cause low blood pressure....i am taking only 10mg twice daily, which is a very low dose. could this be the inderal??
i feel like it takes me over half a day to "wake up" per say...in a real fog until about 1pm or so.
would appreciate any comments!!!
thanks :)

i have constant fatigue and can barely get out of bed. Taking NP thyroid and Dr recently added Cytomel. Since I started Cytomel my appetite has increased, gained weight and feel so incredibly angry and argumentative. It has not helped with weight loss and energy as the Dr was hoping. My hair has also become very dry and I feel as if I'm experiencing premature aging. I feel and look 80...

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
I would talk to/ see your doctor because some beta blockers can lower your blood pressure. If it affecting it, maybe you can take something else.
Best of luck!
Next consider having the Free T3 and the T3 done to see how low or high these got from the Inderal you take. The beta blockers corresponds with the Free T3 and the T3.
I know how you feel, I only take 6.25 mg (twice a day) of Atenolol and I feel woozy with the morning dose until lunchtime. As soon as I get the Free T3 and the T3 (especially) in the mid ranges, I will be able to start weaning off of the Atenolol. I will find that out when I get my labs done.
I had to go back on it because of the anxiety/panic attacks, the T3 started climbing. It was due to my trying some supplements/dietary changes that didn't agree with my thyroid levels. Since I've discontinued with the supplements/dietary changes and went back to the prior ones that worked for me, I've started feeling much better.
Good luck... :-)
