I have had custody of my 6 year-old grandson for almost 2 years. I suffered a stroke 2 months ago and I seem to lose my patience so much easier than before. He will not cooperate with me when I try to teach him things and all I do is get upset. I just filed for permanent custody of him last week and my court date won't be for another 2 months. In the meantime, his mother (a crack addict) seldom calls or bothers to help out with her own son. She said "she wants him back with her." She doesn't work and hasn't seeked any drug treatment. My grandson's father has never acknowledged his existance. Sad but true. I feel as though I'm loosing my mind sometimes. I really believe that all of this stress is what caused my stroke and my daughter could care less about helping out with her son. I'm sorry to vent but I really need someone to talk to. All of my family has moved away and I seldom hear from any of them.

I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
