I don't have gout, but my bf does. He was diagnosed with gout over 10 years ago. I don't remember exactly when, but I'm sure he remembers well. I'm always doing research on it, etc. so that I can help him in any way possible. He's been home bound for about 3 weeks now suffering with one of the worst gout attacks he has had in a long time. This time, it began in his toe. Then when his toe finally began feeling better, the muscle in the side of his leg was inflamed from the way he was walking when his toe was flared up. Not too long after that began feeling better, his ankle flared up. That's what he's suffering with right now. So I haven't seen him much in 3 weeks. I know it's gotta be so very depressing sometimes. Anyone have any advice on how you cope with the pain, etc. during a gout attack? Maybe someone knows something we don't.
