Has anyone had Nissen Fonduplication? My doctor just reccomended it to me. I am on 40 mg achiphex a day. I am still having sypmtoms of tightness in throat, hoarssness oin voice, shortness of breath, feelings of fullness after meals and when I awake, feeling nauseas in the morning. I am getting a PH probe moniter in a bout a month. Has anyone had this also? Then if that shows significant reflux off the meds, I will go and get the manometer test of my esphogus and then scedule the surgery date. I am hopefull that this wll help my asthma problems but also fearfull that it wont really do much. I dont want to elect to have a surgery that I didnt really need to have. With many other surgeries and procedures in my med history, Ive been trying to control it with meds but its not helping my breathing or tightnes in throat. I am not scared of the operation, because I know pain is temporaril and I can deal with it after having two back surgeries, but really really want something that will significantly reduce my breathing problems. Any advice? THANK YOU!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I really was happy with the first surgery. I started getting my voice back right away and my asthma was under control for the first time in years. YES....have the surgery.
I had the pH monitor and manometry on several occasions. They are not as bad as you think. But you will be glad to have the pH monitor out. That one is a 24-hour test. The manometry is done in an hour or so. The worst part is getting the monitor in.
You will do well. Good luck as you work through all these tests and have surgery.
