GERD & Heartburn Support Group
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is defined as chronic symptoms or mucosal damage produced by the abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus. This is commonly due to transient or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. If you are afflicted with GERD or heartburn, join the group and find support.

I guess I just figured this out: heartburn is not all that serious, but Acid Reflux is. They are not the same thing.
There are people all over the web who say that apple cider vinegar cured them of Acid Reflux. I think they only had heartburn. Or eating soft foods made it go away, or slippery elm helps, and on and on and on. I guess they were never waking in the night from gagging and choking.
My sister cures her "Reflux" as she calls it, with saltine crackers. huh. I don't think so. That's just a bit of heartburn, sis.
I've had 8 consecutive nights with little to no sleep (like two hours) and finally went to my physician this morning. I'll get a scope next week but I don't know what kind. I just know they let you drift partially into sleep.
I'd say to others like me, don't waste your time looking at folkloric tales all over the web in search of a cure with purified water. It's tempting, always tempting to me, but it's so easy to just waste time getting to the bottom of your problem.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...

Yeah, the apple cider vinegar thing and the honey thing, both totally worthless. Maybe some aloe juice to help sooth and heal the errosions in the throat, but other than that, it's evacuation time for everyone here. For those who starve themsleves, or eat little throughtout the day (like once a days), you need to stop doing this as it is actually causing your system to slow down and crash in an unatural way. Eating small snacks, preferably raw fruit and vegetables high in fiber, will definitely help. You may still get GERD or heartburn at first, but eventually it will run its' course and improve your evacuation. If you don't poop at least 2-3 times a day, your body isn't evacuting like it should. If you go by the above guidelines of eating 3 times daily with snacks between, you should have at least 3 bowl movement a day, possibly more because of the snacks. But don't listen to me, I have no idea what I'm talking about LOL. Happy eating, snacking, and pooping!

s my whole problem. I have serious gastropersis, which means the vagus nerve has been damaged and my food sits in my stomach and ferments. Its a horrible illness to have, and I take reglan but the reglan makes me sick...so its like a catch 22 or something. I seriously dont know what to do anymore. There is too many things wrong with me to fix...the acid reflux meds dont help much at all. i took coloidal silver maxium dose for a month and no improvement, and that stuff is NOT cheap...i cant afford to take something if after a month I dont see any improvement at all. Im so fustrated sorry I just wish I had an answer

Just wondering if you ever tried consulting a chiropractor. This might actually help to your advantage in your particular situation. Also looking into Rice 'N Shine. I'll only take colloidal silver if I'm sick; isn't that what it's for? Anyways, I'm off for now.
