It has backed off a little, but my mouth has that bottom-of-a-birdcage taste again and I'm crazy bloated.
I think I'm going to try to sleep instead of distracting myself on the computer.

Yeah, .. that is hydrochloric acid (HCl), and large quantities of potassium chloride (KCl) and sodium chloride eroding your upper digestive system. Enough of that and you can get esophogeal cancer and die.
Waiting it out is dangerous. Need to get it under control. I hope you do whatever it takes. Good luck.
