As many of us know, too many gay and lesbian people are afraid to come out because they hear of the violence and hatred that goes to those who come out. This is how it has been, and unfortunatly, it will continue. In the 1800's, many southerners hated the "Savages", the NATIVE Americans, people that were there first and is their land. In the 1960's the hatred to Blacks climaxed, with the killings of black people, their leaders (MLK Jr.) and anyone that supported them (JFK). Now, there is discrimination and hatred towards those who are not hetero. So, what REALLY is the risk of coming out in today's society? I (and probably others) would like to hear from those both closeted and out, so please post your reply.
