i was diagnosed in 2001 with gastrointestional stromal tumor. A very, very rare cancer in the stomach. Only through surgery and removal of the cancer, one can survive. Routine CAT scans are done for many, many years. I am clear so far. I am due another one in March. Chemo and radiation are not effective for this cancer. Anyone who wants to ask questions, please post or send a hug with your questions. I am happy to answer when I am on.

I did not see that this was under young men but what I said can apply to anyone.

My boyfriend passed away this past May. He was diagnosed with Stage IV stomach cancer on 4/11. He was 29, and he was Mexican American. He always said that he had stomach issues, but nothing that he ever though to get checked out. Turns out he had H Pylori, an ulcer, and sure enough cancer. It had spread through his stomach, to his omentum, and his organs. He lost 70lbs in two months, had a g-tube, a pic line, and could barely eat. Tragically, he killed himself May 30th.
