Ok so I was 5 weeks out and had to go see my surgeon as I was not able to keep anything down, feeling very dehydrated, weak. They admitted me to the hospital as they thought that maybe I had a Anastomotic Stricture so they did an endoscopy and found severe ulcers where they made my new stomach. They put a PICC line in my arm and I am on a TPN (total parenteral nutrition....this is how I get my nutrition) and have been on it almost 4 weeks and I have 2 more weeks to go. I can only have clear liquids as they want the ulcers to heal. I go in on June 17th to have another endoscopy to see if they have healed and if they have not, I might have to have surgery! I did lose 27 pounds but now that I am on the TPN bag, I have gained 7 pounds....so not only do I have to go through all of this...2 endoscopy, change the PICC to another arm since the first one was leaking, VNA comes out once a week, have an Doppler Ultrasound, before all this happen a week out I had to go get IV's at the hospital from being dehydrated and I NEVER get to see my surgeon or talk to him only the nurse practitioner.....AND WORST OF ALL GAIN WEIGHT! I am so stressed. My life is on hold. When I go anywhere I have to carry a bag around with a pump for my IV. All of this could have been avoided....I had to get medical clearance from my cardiologist, primary doctor, physiologist, and nutritionist prior to surgery. One of my co-morbities was GERD and I have a hital-hernia, but the doctor did not have me get medical clearance from the GI doctor. If he had then none of this would have happen. I am so mad and want to lose weight and get my life back. I wish I did not have this surgery. Sorry just how I feel right now!
