What does the large stomach do for you?

I am talking about the left over stomach that you don't use anymore, obviously. Can you feel sick in that area of stomach? Like if you get the flu, will you feel sick in the pouch and in the extra stomach?

I was told by my surgeon that the big original stomach is still there and still makes acid and digestive stuff for further down the digestive tract, it still has a use, don't know if it can get the stomach flu.. i assume the one you feed is the one affected by that

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps.
