This is day 1 of my 7th week. I am down 35 pounds and wondering why it isn't a high number like a lot of people on here. Not really bummed about it, just wondering. My doctor said I should lose a pound a day. At that number I should be down 49 pounds. Am I doing something wrong or am I just odd? Shoot, I have even been working out.
I am going to try eating 6 times a day instead of 3 (like my nutritionist told me to do) to see if that helps. Maybe I am getting into my old way of thinking. I know you have to eat so much in order to workout so much and to lose weight. Maybe I am over-thinking a simple process. Should I cut back on the workouts and just walk only? That sounds boring but I will do what I need to do.
What do you guys think?

What brands of protein shakes or drinks do you like? I'm still trying to find the "perfect" protein, lol... I've tried Unjury, Inspire and Syntrax and they're ok but just wondering what else is out there. I grabbed a 4-pack of Premier Protein ready made drinks last night at the grocery store, all excited about being able to buy locally and they have 30 g of protein! but when I got home I...

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...
Are you counting the weight you gained after surgery? I had to lose 13 lbs to get back to the weight I was the day before surgery and you bet I would count them for the first month!
so I am envious of you............it will happen for us both....I am tryhing not to let it get me down....for me, I struggle to get more than 500 calories per day........
I feel your pain though..........I thought I would be down by about 45 by now.......it will come......................thats what I keep telling myself.
I would not change your workout.. variety leads to you doing it longer and not getting bored.... stick with it.....I have pretty much been on the treadmill because I am training for a run.........in march and I REALLY hope I am down another 30 or more by then....
I just started lifting weights as well.
good luck!
I went through A LOT today to get all that in. Plus, I kept it all down!!
Protein is very important.. my doc says 80 to 100 grams per day
btw.. i weighed myself right before surgery and as soon as I was able to walk and I lost 3 lbs... not sure what people mean by weighing more after surgery.
I wouldn't get too bogged down in it all. Do what you've been told, keep up the exercise, and be patient! Next November we'll be look back at this with our awesome losses and realize that in month two we were doing just fine!
I stuck to 3 meals a day, no snacking. Sometimes I counted a shake as a meal, sometimes I didn't. At 7 weeks, I wasn't allowed to work out, yetjust walk.
My advice is to not rush/push things. Let the ride down come naturally. It isnt a race and you dont want to mess up your metabolism again. Focus on getting the protein in, drinking your water, taking your vitamins, movingand living life!!
The rest will take care of itself in your bodys perfect time.
