Vitamin B12 and all B Vitamins & Energy

I was wondering if everyone knew that after having a GBS with malabsorbtion that you can no longer absorb B vitamins since B vitamins are all absorbed in the stomach and first part of the small intestine. I have a great Doc with a top notch staff including the nutritionist who is 5 years post op on a GBS and is at 145 pounds. She told me the best way to keep your energy levels up is to be sure to get B12. There are sublingual (under the tongue) B vitamins and injectible b vitamins. I am using sublingual. they run about $6.00 at Walmart and I feel like they are working great. Just and FYI.

Thanks for that information. I've been hearing alot about B vitamins and wondered if I should be taking them in addition to my multi-vitamin. Gonna give them a try. :)

Are the sublingual B vitamins over the counter?

Yes, it's available over-the-counter. Drugstore.com has a 500mcg 250 tablet bottle for under $15. Since you'd be taking 2 of these a day to get the 1000mcg dose, this would be a 3 month supply.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
