Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
If it hurts/is uncomfortable you need to eat less I think, even though what you eat may seem very little already but keep up your fluids. It will get better, the first 4 weeks post-op are famous for getting depressed etc, find reassurance in knowing that this happens to most of us.
you will get to the other side!
I am 10 days post op and haven't even started purees and it is a little frustratring that I dump very easily and feel i am hardly eating anything as a result, I am drinking plenty though and reminding myself it will get better, I know it will!
One of the things that did well for me was to make Cream of Wheat, add a 1/2 scoop of the Vanilla flavored powdered Whey protein and a little Skim milk to smooth it out. I got about 15g of protein out of it.
If you get the unflavored Whey protein, you can mix it with just about any creamed soup (Tomato for me) and it will give you added protein.
Keep your chin up, it happens to all of us.

This really isn't a tease. when you get a little way out from surgery and are really getting into the swing of how things are going to go, while letting go of the 'Old' ways, this mindset seems to settle in.
Forgotten are the months you spent on your online support group giving, and reading others give support to those in precisely this place!
Now is the time for you to find those tips about eating slower, and going back a step or two for a day or two. You need to put all of the advice flying around here into action.
Then, Also, Don't be afraid if you do all you can think of, and still need to call the Dr. if you still need answers.
We're here for you, Keep your chin up, and good luck!
God Bless!
