Negative WLS episode on Oprah tommorrow

I saw that tomorrow Oprah is doing a show on transfer addiction and Weight loss surgery. I love Oprah I watch all her shows, but I think this may be something I may not enjoy. I went to her message board and posted in response to the episode. The link to the message board is http://www.oprah.com/community/message/55406#55406
They started the discussion with this post...
"They thought weight loss surgery was the answer. Instead, they went from fat...to thin...to rock bottom. The risky side of weight loss surgery you don't know."
seems pretty negative. I already wrote a response my name on her board is amelia2668

theatre and I are there already. I'm having a very berry tea with crackers, cheese and cherry tomatoes and she's having a joint with some beer and we're both on really comfy recliners on thick pile carpet. we need some help with the decor if anyone is around??

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
and it pissed me off that oprah basically said that everyone who had the surgery thought that it was an easy, quick fix. screw you bitch!
Oprah can be alright-- but I'm not a big fan of hers. Personally, I didn't watch the show, have only read what you guys wrote here-- but I think we all know here that transfer addiction is a really serious issue that does end up affecting a lot of people- luckily we were all well-informed pre-op.. but unfortunately there is a large majority of people who don't do their research and just expect people to tell them everything they need to know. Sad, but true.
I guess my point of view is this-- a show like that won't scare someone who is serious about getting it, and knows that they NEED it. However, I think it might actually do us a service, and help scare away those people who DO think it is just a quick fix- those people who ARE looking for an easy way out of dieting, because lord knows they are out there!
At the same time, I don't think it is anyone's fault but their own for not doing their research and being careful-- may not be completely their fault- but the bottom line is.. it is.
