Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Welcome to DS! So glad you joined us. This site is the best I've found to get support for gastric bypass surgery. I had my surgery about 11 months ago and I don't know what I would have done without these people!
How exciting that you will be getting your date! The classes are so informative. Have you talked to anyone who had their surgery where you're having yours? Do you know what your pre-op diet will be?
Keep us posted on how everything goes at your last nut meeting!
Nice to meet you,

It is very nice to meet you! My appointment went well, they are going to submit everything to my insurance now, next week I am going to attend a class to get me ready for the first 4 weeks and they will give me my pre op diet then, I am having this surgery mainly because I have a very severe case of acid reflux so they are not sure that I will be able to handle the liquid diet.. Which one did you do? I am going to have my surgery at the MAyo clinic and it is about 4 1/2 hours away so I haven't had a chance to meet anyone or go to there support groups. I am hoping that soon they will call me with a date for surgery.
Thanks so much for listening, and I will keep you posted
Janet
