Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I was in surgery for two hours. But if your nervous why not talk to an (no way I can spell this)Anesthesiologist and discuss it. I personally love it. You go to sleep and wake up and its all done, how cool is that?
It is a very calm and relaxed setting (for a pre-op room) where they will start you to sleep. You will feel like you really are sleepy, and just wanna close your eyes for 'just a minute' to rest them. It's weird, almost interesting!
I've had 6 surgeries so far, (my GBS will be 'Lucky 7'!) and being put to sleep isn't anything to worry over! I promise!
God Bless!
