Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Most people can't afford to just go buy insurance, and fewer and fewer employers are offering it to their employees. You would think with this being an election year we would be hearing more about this subject.
But, alas, no. What we get to hear about is who made a poorly chosen remark about some minority, or who employed an illegal alien...
Anyway, unless you could afford to just go buy insurance, which obviously you can't or you would have already, and wouldn't be here asking this question,
You'll have to discuss this with the surgeon's office. Sometimes they have financing available to help.
Also your employer has the option of purchasing a policy for employees that covers the surgery, so talking to your human resources person may be helpful.
You may have to choose a more expensive plan to get the coverage you need for the surgery.
Hope this is helpful - good luck!
Is it possible for you to just call them and see about getting a policy that will cover you for this?
My policy covers mine.
God Bless!
