Everyone is supporting me great at home and my friends at nursing school. I was not your typical gastric bypass patient. My highest weight was 217 and I'm now down to 208. So I find a lot of ridicule by some people. They don't realize that at 5'2 carrying 100lbs of extra person around can feel horrible. My feet stung when I walked on them, my ankles were swollen and my face. My knees hurt walking up the stairs and when I made it to the top I was soo out of breath I had to lay down before coming back down. So I get a lot of responses such as "that I didn't need the surgery." The truth is that I've had very high hypertension since the age of 23 and began experienceing cardiac problems and now medication would lower the pressure, I knew I'd die of a heart attack if something wasn't done very soon to get the weight off. I'm very optimistic that this will work, but I just hope I can make it!!

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
