I found out I had a hernia when I had my endoscopy before my GBP surgery. I tried to convince my surgeon to perform a hernia operation then, but he refused and said it wasn't necessary. I talked with a plastic surgeon yesterday about a possible tummy tuck in the future. He told me he normally charges $6600 for a tummy tuck, but that it would cost me $15,000 out-of-pocket because he would HAVE to fix my hernia at the same time he did the tummy tuck. I am going to try and convince my GBP surgeon to reconsider doing the hernia, so hopefully my insurance would pay for that, since it wouldn't pay for it if done at the same time as the tummy tuck. I am not very hopeful he will change his mind. Has anyone had a tummy tuck/lower body lift and had a hernia also? Any suggestions?
