I'm not the one to answer this question but have heard you may have a struggle on your hands, if you didn't have local Dr.'s lined up ahead of time.
A good resource to check out is:-

You know I had my surgery done locally, but I had a long talk with my Internist and I am so much more comfortable with him.
I asked if he had GBS patients that he has followed and he told me he had. He said he felt comfortable taking care of all of the follow up and long term care so as soon as my 6 weeks is up and postop is cleared, I plan to only see him.
It is strange having 2 docs give different medication lists so I electing to go with whom I am most comfortable with. I guess my surgeon should have developed a better bedside manner...LOL! But to answer your question, just go and visit a few Internist/Family Practice Docs and find one you like and who can follow you with confidence.
