Hi!
I was reading a post by my friend NAL. It seems as if our medical providers have a goal for us. My doc's goal is for my BMI to be a 24. I am 5 feet tall.... so that would be 129 pounds. Is that my goal? I dont know. I guess I didnt think about it.... that was her goal.
Here is my take on it. I started out weighing 220. Size 2X top, 18 bottoms (which were tight) It doesnt sound like too much, but it is on a 5 foot frame. My BMI was 43. In less than 3 months, I have lost 39 pounds, and my BMI is 35.3. Not too shabby.
My goal? Size 10. Medium or large top, depending on the type. Medium scrubs, that fit well and dont pull at my stomach. Run a mile without passing out. Find an exercise that I like and stick with it.
Just thinking out loud. I would love to hear what goals you all have.... : )

My doctor didn't tell me a goal but a tool they use to see if you qualify for the weight: at 5' tall you should be at 100lbs and for every inch taller you should add 5 lbs... so for me who is 5'4" that would mean 120lbs. When I started the process I was 262. I am now 250 ( I was required to loose 5% before sent to insurance). I have NEVER been 120!! I remember being 135 my senior year of high school (after being on a weight loss program and loosing 30lbs). Since then the smallest I have been is 165. Where would I be happy? I don't think I will ever see 120 or 130 but I think between 140 and 150 would be good. At that weight I am normally a size 10. A friend at work who had the surgery and was very close to my starting weight is now a size 6/8 and in the 125-135 range. My step dad who had the surgery in March has went from 375 to 235 and is still loosing about 1lb per week ( he is 6'5" tall). He believes he will bottom out around 220. He feels that 240 is a good weight for him, but he also knows that he will eventually over time gain some weight back so he is taking full advantage of the first year to loose as much as he can. I think it is an individual thing that everyone has to decide for themselves... do not let a doctor tell you where you need to be. Judge for yourself!! You are the one who has to live with it afterall!! Good luck!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
