Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. I have gained 4 lbs in the past two days (missed Victoza infections 2 days). Have started having compulsions about foods that shouldn't be in the house, and have snuck in over the holidays.
So far only dark choc pretzels and Life cereal bars with a double choc shake, but the will to eat is there for the first time in a year.
DW is sanitizing toxic food choices and locking the pantry. I am headed for online WLS OA meeting at 5pm.
I knew this day would come, but I am not happy to see it.... I will get back on track, I have no choice....

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
Figure out something to keep your hands busy, because usually if your hands are busy, your mind is, too, and you'll think less about food. Put together a jigsaw puzzle, or do some woodworking, or whatever your hobbies may be. I know when I'm working on my sewing projects, it has always kept me away from the kitchen, even before surgery. So distract yourself and you won't think about food!
Have some patience with yourself, too. This too shall pass... thank goodness your DW is such a help to you!
Stay healthy....

I don't know if this will help you but it does me..... I deepbreath for ten minutes before I decide to eat anything. Just one of my mantras , if I do decide I am hungry I then allow myself something, actually just did. I had eggfaces idea of a grilled cheese with ham rolled around it. mmm curbed the urge really well.
most of the time though after deep breathing for ten minutes don't need anything cause wasn't stomache hungry.
hope it helps , if it isn't something you can use or doesn't work for you just be kind to yourself and don't beat yourself up over it. Only kindness makes sense.

I am reminded that I can't control anything apart from myself, and that only with help of HP and others.
Feel calmer and more centered. Ready to eat dinner and slow down...{:>}
Don't lose your focus!!!
