Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
My partner would really like to have GBS, but she has tons of health issues and her doctors have told her she can't have it because it would kill her - because of her other health problems. Her body isn't strong enough period. I, on the other hand, have co-morbidities of severe osteoarthritis, borderline high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I'm a perfect candidate (and yes, she's jealous, but that's another post).
Hope this helps ease your concerns.
To me that was very powerful. That even though she had gone through so many issues after surgery (She had the surgery 8-10 years ago) that she wouldn't take it back.
I looked at it this way... I was 383 lbs and on the road to death from morbid obesity. I had nothing to lose but the weight.
