Not to coin a famous phrase but I am 2 and a half weeks postop and I am not hungry. Not at all. I force myself to eat or rather drink...I can sit with my family while they chow down and sort of winder why I am not attacking their food.
ocassionally I struggle with food addictions like eating when bored or stressed but it is not driven by hunger ever. Is this because my blood sugar is now under control?
Seriously though I could porbably stop eating...drinking altogether and never want to eat.
Just strange so I thought I would mention it.

Physically I am not hungry, but when I sit here with nothing to do my "stomach" grumbles which is impossible because the only reason it would is because it's gas. I think I am hungry but I'm not. I have to learn to eat to live, not live to eat.

NO, not strange at all. I was the same. You get past that. But my mind set has totally changed. I don't think about food as much as I use too & I love the fact that my minds not so focused on food anymore. I almost feel unchained & set free now thats kinda strange lol Sam:)

Is it not great? How sweet to be free from Food's grasp. I am not hungry all the time--or ever. I have to remind myself to eat. People who have never suffered from overeating or food addiction would never understand how liberating this tool is. It helps us to relearn how to eat wisely. This will be my first Thanksgiving coming up---staying away from all the carbs--and what are we going to do with all the leftovers? I don't know about you guys--but my frig is already full of tiny uneaten food containers!!!!!

I also found that when I feel compelled to eat, not hungry, just compelled it is in the evening. Usually it is spurred by boredom and old routines. Any suggestions about how to deal with that?

That is exactly how I feel...I have a friend who had the surgery almost 2 1/2 years ago; I called her and asked how I could tell if I was hungry or not....most of the time I just dont eat....Its crazy!!!

I think the majority of us do not feel hunger for a while after surgery. I was one of the few that does actually get hungry. I can get headaches and get fatigue if I do not eat enough during the day. I am not a diabetic or have any other health issues. I just feel hunger.

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
