I am experiencing burning when I drink sf lemonade or anything acidic. I have just noticed this in the past 2 1/2 weeks. When I swallow it will be a second or two and then it will burn. I know the answer is to quit drinking sf lemonade but it was my favorite before surgery and it is still the one thing that I can still have after surgery. I was wondering if any of you have experienced this and what you done for it or what it was. I am worried that it is an ulcer. Prior to this burning, I was sick and coughing alot at night so I took the recommended dose of nyquil and OH my goodness. The second I swallowed it burned soooo bad and I could fill it burning past my pouch in my intestines as well. just want to see what you all think. Let me know.

I can't tell you where to go on this but to call your surgeon's office and share this with them. I've not heard of a burning pouch, I've heard of pain and fullness, but not burning. Though, I'm fairly new to this so maybe you'll get more helpful replies then mine. For now, I'd cut out anything that is causing the pain until you either talk to a doctor or get some advice here that can help you! Good luck!

I would quit taking what is causing this and I agree with Minnesota go to your surgeon. My other advice is by my experience and what I was told not to have any alcohol at all and nyquil has alcohol in it. My docs suggested sudafed and for me it works pretty good. I was told any type of alcohol causes ulcers in the stomache and on the staple line. You need to contact the surgeon though it may be nothing except for to acidic for you post op.

Call your doctor. It sounds like an ulcer to me.

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
