Lean Meats/Meat Substitutes.... 2 to 3 oz. 3 times a day
Vegetables................................. 1 1/2 cups a day
Fruit............................................ 1 cup a day
Low-fat Dairy.............................. 2 cups low-fat milk OR
1 oz. low-fat cheese and
1 cup low-fat, no-sugar yogurt
Whole Grains............................. 4 oz. a day
Fats............................................ 3 to 4 teaspoons a day
Follow these recommended servings as a GUIDE, keeping in mind that you should stop eating when your hunger is gone or when you feel comfortable. Always eat the protein first.

BUT yes to making healthy choices 'most' of the times and stopping eating when satisfied, not carrying on 'just because' like I did in the past.
So yes, I do give protein the first place and make sure I get enough of it every day, I do then try to add veg/whole grains/fruit, but do not weigh and if I want a chocolate I will have it! But now am happy just with a tiny one, before the op I had to have the whole box!
