I saw my surgeon today for the 3-month post-op appointment. Good news - I have lost a total of 61 lbs including 15 lbs pre-op. My labs are normal except my HDL was a little low. The doctor wasn't concerned because my total cholesterol was normal. My glucose was slightly high at 102, but he wasn't concerned. My Hemoglobin A1c went from 6.5 to 5.6 which is good. The surgeon wants me to start taking an over the counter omeprazole (prilosec) to prevent ulcers. I was taking a prescription omeprazole for the first 3 months post op. So, I am a very happy with my progress so far and so is the surgeon.

I miss traveling with my husband. Has anyone found a specific site regarding cruising for widow/widowers or any sightseeing trips. Not interested in being with couples and kids,,,I realize a cruise ship will have a portion size of families and couples, but perhaps they also put together a part of the cruise ship for groups of widows/widowers????
