have had wine without issue. I'm now 15 mo out, skinny as a
rail and I drink like a lun. Go figure!
It has something to do with malabsorbtion.
I've lost 155 and
held
that for 10 mo now!
Jus sayin Lu
FYI I do the protein, and I'm a freak on walking daily. I'd discribe me
as a
rat in a coffee can if I can't hike, cycle or run daily!
Thanks for your replies.
If you choose to drink wine, Be careful! One drink is like 2-3 afte GBS, be sure someone else who isn't drinking is going to drive. I have known people who have gotten a DUI after only 1 beer or 1 glass of wine post GBS because they never would have been too drunk on that preop but post op they can't handle it anymore.
Sip it slowly! It will hit you way harder and quicker than you ever imagined or it did preop! (trust me You don't want to totally embarass yourself). You might consider a wine spritzer, just leave it sit long enough to get rid of the bubbles or stir it around to help get rid of them.
Don't try to keep up with your friends! Alternate with a non alcoholic drink or water. You will still have fun!
Enjoy!

I like my wine to be semi-sweet. Not overly sweet, but not to dry. The drier the wine, the less sugar and less likely you are to have problems with the sugar content.
I have always found wine hard on the tummy probably due to the Tanins in it (thats what I was told anyway)
Additionally you can imbibe without drinking to much, Especially if you are one whom alcohol hits hard post surgery.
